EDIT: answers from some professor instead
http://www.mathsguidebook.com/h2maths/pdf/h2-mathematics-9740-year-2009-paper-1-solutions.pdf
my answers:
1i) 3/2n^2 - 17/2n + 17
ii) n> or = 11
2) p = 2pi/(3ln3)
3i) A =2
ii) 1/4 - 1/n + 1/(n+1)
iii) 1/4
4i) 11
ii) looks like repeated sketches of waves / shark fins
iii)36 2/3
5) I don't remember my answer but this question should be fairly simple (use MOD and simplify) answer has 4 parts I recall only
1/6(n)(n+1)(something with 7)
6 i) use GC, C2 is an ellipse.
ii) sub C1 into C2, should be fairly easy
iii) don't remember. plot 2(x-2)sq-(x+2)sq(6-xsq) = 0
and calculate intercepts with x axis
7i) 1 + xsq/2 (don't remember, not sure) but then again, maclaurin should be doable for the majority of us.
ii) a = 1/e
b = 1/(2e)
8i) sum to infinity = 356.something, <357
ii) L =~ 272
length of 13th bar = 10cm
iii) d = -21/5, longest length =a =~16.3
9i)aiyah. tedious to solve now.
ii) heptagon that is symmetrical about the line y=x
iii) y = x taninv(5pi/28)
10i) around 70, can't remmber
ii) (0,1,0) = t (1, 1, -1) t is an element of R
iii)x-y = -1
11 i ) use your GC
ii) some root 2 and 2. I don't remember exact.
iii)1/2 [1 - e^-nsq]
iv)[1 - e^-4)
v) use GC =~ 0.363
everything here is based on my memory as I didn't copy down my answers
of course, it's subjected to error and please notify me (tag or msn) if we've differing answers so that we may discuss and all that.
I'll be willing to provide worked out solutions on request too :)
will upload the answers for H1 paper soon as well. cheers :)
