Mr Michael Gambon surely has never read Harry Potter in his life. His portrayal of Albus is horrifically inaccurate and destroys the image of the kind old man in my literal heart.
Rita Seeker and Prof Mcgonagall, obviously, has studied the book properly and know what is deem of them- a cruel lady seeking nothing but profit and would stop at nothing to acheive what she wants and a kind professor who has the interests of her students at heart. Both have their masks they wear in front of others and both actresses have brought their characters to life. Although I must add that I expected an older Rita- she was already working for the prophet since 14 years ago when Voldermort was rising.
Any way, to Mr Michael's "unwillingness to better Mr Harris (who was an amazing actor btw)", I say that he's just lazy to do the basic homework of an actor- to study what his character is supposed to be like according to the author. I mean, it's pure respect isn't it. It's not a character from a random script that doesn't have emotions or require your expertise in injecting random emotions that you deem fit. He is the spirit from a book, a book that lays all the foundation so all he really had to do was to emulate the Albus who is in the book. He's plain lazy and watching him is an eyesore. Can't he just stop shouting for a moment?
Can't believe JKR approved of this btw.
I don't even are that much that the movie is riddled with inaccuracies because I think a movie that originates from a series of book can never truly provide the experience of the details and the intricacies that the latter can. What I'm hoping for is merely a visualisation of certain scenes in the books that have the oomph factor- seeing how the mirror of erised look like, looking at the chambers, seeing a hippogriff and stuff like that. Don't ruin the book by casting a totally different light on the well loved character that Albus is.
