Despite being so overwhelmed by it, I've been so reluctant to post anything on social media regarding MM/PM/Mr Lee's passing the past week.
I find it a tragedy that it takes his passing to open our eyes to the beauty and greatness he's brought to our beloved country.
Could it be that I refuse to jump on bandwagons? I'm not sure.
But I can't seem to draft a post that can speak the multitude of emotions I'm feeling
I've been crying on a daily basis, just soaking in the genuine emotions of the people of Singapore. How florists are giving flowers out for free, refusing any remuneration from moved passerbys, how the entire state is in unity (not just your 9/8 kinda contrived harmony), how my whole family of 5 actually sat down in the living room watching the TV (first time this happened in more than 1 decade).
All these sights really bring tears to my face (even as I'm typing this)
and I'm not sure how words and a black and white photo can deliver and express my feelings..
I'm so glad that the country is united. That it took the inevitable death of our founder for us to work hand in hand, moving towards a better nation. This, better than war- its repercussions are a lot less severe. It was a glorious sight.
Wish I could meet you and give you a big big hug.
